Community members invited to join C.R.A.S.E. training and learn what to do in an active shooter situation

The RRISD Council of PTAs has partnered with RRISD and the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office to bring the first of three, C.R.A.S.E. events to you! This course is an extended version for parents and community members. Topics include the history and prevalence of active shooter events, the role of professional guardians, civilian response options, and demonstrates examples of things to do in case of an active shooter event. This potentially lifesaving program is open to the public and will address what individuals need to know to look out for their individual safety. EVERYONE is welcome to attend! This event is free to the community. Presenter is Williamson County Sheriff, B. Schaefer.

The first event is April 1 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at the Raymond Hartfield Performing Arts Center (Next to McNeil HS) 5720 McNeil Drive Austin, TX.

Pants are needed at PTA's Clothes Closet!

As you and your students are cleaning out drawers and closets, please remember RRISD PTA's Clothes Closet, which serves any Round Rock student. Requests for services have been rising this year!

Right now in Round Rock, there is a shortage of pants, especially for the youngest students. Donations can be made to your school or directly to either Clothes Closet location Children need only a school nurse's voucher for clothing -- no forms or income proof is required. Clothes Closet is there to help if you lose a job or are furloughed. The Clothes Closet serves all students throughout RRISD, and it sometimes gets donations that help their families too. http://rrisd.council.my-pta.org/Content.asp?PageID=2&ContentIndex=25

Also, it's not too late to join your local PTA for the year! Your dues helps your students and helps support Clothes Closet and other enrichment programs.
